And Now For Something Completely Different...

Okay, so this has absolutely nothing to do with Bollywood at all (or Monty Python for that matter), but my sister sent this link to me for this comedy group Flight of the Conchords tonight and I had to post it. I found it so funny, especially the first video Business Time. Wonder if House favorites the Curry Smugglers could do a remix with this one! ;)

And a parody on what I am assuming is Fergie's My Humps...

I'm not sure what it says about me that I thought this was funny as hell, but then again I have a soft spot for musical comedy, being a fan of Canadian comedy favs Arrogant Worms and Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie.

That is all.

FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS! They're New Zealand's "fourth most popular folk parody duo"!

Before they were mega famous, my claim to fame was sitting like, a metre away from Jemaine in a cafe in Wellington. I know, amazing right.

I super love them and thank my friend for turning me on to them!!

I think they're funnier than the Arrogant Worms. I'd love to see some full episodes. If anyone knows where I can accomplish that, let me know!

@Ness - That's awesome!!! I had no idea where they were from, so that's cool to find that out. Don't you love it when you have a "I knew them before they were famous"?

@Jules - There's so much great stuff in the world, isn't there? You just never know when you'll stumble upon something fabulous. You should ask Ness about where to find them, I bet she'd know.

ps. when did you get the new pic? It's very cool and sexy. I hate you for getting the good lips!

Hmmm well they are big in NZ (obviously) so their DVDs and cds are available in like every record and bookstore here, but I am pretty sure you can get their HBO TV series and possibly their albums through Amazon and the usual suspects overseas. Online, there are heaps of awesome live performances and bunch of clips from the tv show on youtube.

Also, look out for the film Eagle vs Shark which stars Jemaine; and the more recent film Boy. Both of which have a similar NZ comedy sensibility and are made by a fantastic actor/director, Taika Waititi who is a friend of the Flight of the Conchords guys (and whose short film Two Cars One Night was nominated for an Oscar a couple of years back. Ahhh kiwi pride!)
