I can't believe it's been almost a week since I watched a Bollywood movie. I'm not sure what's going on, I think Hollywood's taken over. I caught 'The Proposal' on Friday night with the girls - which was hilarious; then, last night it was 'Marley & Me' with the hubby. Who knew you could cry so much over a dog! WTF!? That movie confirmed all at once why I don't have pets and why I need one.
Anyway, I need some help. There's a few movies that I've started to watch and, for any number of reasons, never really got into them. Also, my pvr is starting to fill up. As there is never any description for those ones, I could sure use some help sorting the questionable from the worthy. Here's the list:
Yes Boss
Mela
Ghulam
Blackmail
Phir Milenge
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam
1947: Earth
Hote Hote Pyaar Ho Gaya
Think that's enough?
Also, it's been a while since I posted a gratuitous picture of SRK, and since it's Father's Day today, what would be better than a mini photo tribute to one of Bollywood's favorite Dads.
Happy Father's Day everyone!

With Blackmail, is this the one starring Dharmendra and Rakhee? If so, I highly recommend it.

@ theBollywoodFan - Thanks. I'll keep that in consideration.
@ Cindy - no, I think it's Ajay Devgan and Priyanka Chopra. I thought I saw a review for the Dharmendra one and that's probably why I recorded it.

Of your list, I would recommend 'Earth' (fantastic film with wonderful performances, but steel yourself and get the hankies out - it's not easy to watch AT ALL), 'Yes Boss' (fun flick - Juhi in fine comedic form, and your Bollywood husband too, of course), and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' (some stunning visuals and a great performance by Ajay Devgan). Enjoy!!!

@Daddy's Girl - thanks. I originally found 'Yes Boss' silly and cheesy, but it was one of the first SRK's I tried to watch and wasn't the *ahem* seasoned viewer I am now, so I'll try it again.
Seems 'Earth' and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' is tops on everyone's lists, so those ones for sure.
Oh, and love the hubby reference! Recognize! ;)

Lovely SRK pics. Its amazing how closely his daughter resembles him!
You've certainly got a mixed bag. I looooved Yes Boss - it is light hearted, romantic and yet escapes being the usual SRK cheese-fest. Phir Milenge was a very sensitive and very well done tale of an HIV-positive woman's (Shilpa Shetty) trials. Its one of Abhishek's better performance and perhaps the only good role that Shilpa Shetty has ever done! No masala though. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is gorgeous and soooo romantic... And I am sure you are going to see Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam no matter what. Right? ;-)

@ bollyviewer - Funny thing is that Yes Boss and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam are two movies I tried to watch and eventually shut off. I'm attributing the first to the fact that it was an early movie for me and I didn't fully understand Bollywood back then, and the second was purely because of Sallu, who I am still not fond of. But I think I'm going to give them both another try. I didn't know what Phir Melenge was about, but now I'm looking forward to that one.
Thanks for the input!

@ bollyviewer - oh, and yes about Suhana, I think he has said that she looks like him and Aryan looks like Gauri. In any case, they are certainly one good looking family all around.

Blackmail with Ajay Devgan is highly underrated. Now, I'm not going to lie and say it's the greatest movie I ever saw, but if you like Ajay you'll probably like it. :-)

I really love that picture of Shahrukh with Suhana... I just melted into a huge puddle the first time I saw it.

It's a classic picture of them I think.
